The solemn opening of the new laboratory of "Forest Pyrology and Forest Monitoring" took place at VSUFT named after G.F. Morozov. The educational and scientific space was created in the main building of the University at the Department of Forestry, Forest Taxation and Forest Management as part of the implementation of the state assignment of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The main task of the laboratory will be an in-depth study of the processes of occurrence and spread of forest fires, as well as the development of innovative technologies for their prediction and prevention. The room is equipped with modern equipment and historical elements: unique stained glass windows, a sub-ceiling lighting frame and portraits of outstanding Russian scientists in the field of aerial photography have been preserved.

The laboratory is equipped with specialized equipment with licensed software for processing satellite images, electrified training stands and a multimedia system. This makes it possible to conduct classes in an interactive format and introduce students to digital technologies in forestry.

The new space will be used for training students in specialized disciplines, research work and the development of practical solutions in the field of forest fire prevention. The opening of the laboratory will strengthen the material and technical base of the university for training new generation forestry specialists.
