As part of a partnership with the Voronezh CSM, students of VSUFT consolidated theory with practice

Students of the Automobile Faculty, the direction of Transportation Organization and Management in Transport of VSUFT visited the Federal Budgetary Institution "State Regional Center for Standardization, Metrology and Testing in the Voronezh Region", which is a participant in a joint cooperation Agreement with VSUFT and a long-term partner.

The organizers of this event are Alexander Sergeevich Chernykh, Head of the Department of Forest Industry, Metrology, Standardization and Certification, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Mikhail Leonidovich Shabanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Forest Industry, Metrology, Standardization and Certification.

The Federal Budgetary Institution "Voronezh CSM" is a subordinate institution of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology Rosstandart, whose main functions are ensuring the uniformity of measurements, standardization, and technical regulation.

After completing a course of lectures on metrology, standardization, and certification, students consolidated their theoretical knowledge and gained practical skills. They viewed museum exhibits and modern standards, the process of verifying and calibrating measuring instruments, the regulatory fund, the work of the standardization and technical regulation department, and the certification body.

The tour began with a history of the FBI "Voronezh CSM", general information about its activities, and museum exhibits.

The students then visited the verification laboratories and learned about modern standards and verification equipment.

In the department of verification and testing of thermal measuring instruments, students were shown the verification of thermal imagers and sound meters. In the department of verification and testing of physico-chemical measuring instruments, students saw the verification of breathalyzers and luxmeters.

The students were particularly interested in visiting the department of verification and testing of general technical measuring instruments. The students got acquainted with the standards of mass and standards of strength.

In this department, students also saw measuring instruments used in auto repair and road construction, including torque wrenches, headlight beam monitoring devices, road curvimeters, road measuring rods, sieves used in road construction laboratories, as well as caliper tools and micrometers.

At the end of the excursion, the students expressed their gratitude to the staff of the FBI "Voronezh CSM" and the organizers, and also noted its usefulness in reinforcing the lecture material.
