Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies named after G.F. Morozov held an orienteering competition for first-year students. The event helped identify the most agile and resourceful newcomers, capable of making quick decisions in unfamiliar situations.
Among the girls, Tatyana Sologub (LA2-251 OB) won, showing the best result in completing the distance. Second place went to Ekaterina Protchenko (ZL2-251 OB), and third to Nadezhda Osipova (ZL2-251 OB).
Among the young men, Maxim Arsenyev (AS2-252 OB) won gold. Andrey Egorov (TD2-251 OB) won silver, and Andrey Petrenko (IL2-251 OB) won bronze.
The competition organizers expressed special gratitude to the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy, Vladimir Anatolyevich Zelikov, for his active participation in the preparation and holding of the event.
"Orienteering isn't just about physical fitness; it also develops logical thinking and the ability to quickly analyze situations. All participants demonstrated a high level of preparation", - the competition's organizing committee noted.
The event became part of a programme to help first-year students adapt to student life and helped strengthen interfaculty ties.
