The symbolic Tree of the university dedicated to the 95th anniversary was opened at VSUFT

As part of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies named after G.F. Morozov, the ceremonial opening of the symbol of the university, the metal Tree, took place. The idea of creating a composition embodying the history and development of the university originated 15 years ago, and now it has found its complete embodiment.

As the Rector of VSUFT noted, the powerful trunk of the tree symbolizes the history of the university, dating back to 1930, and the branches represent faculties and fields of study. "We hope that new branches will appear on this tree — specialties and faculties, and its fruits will be graduates who join the economy of the region and the country", - he stressed.

The author and architect of the idea was the Vice-rector for Administrative and Economic Work and Capital Construction. According to the creator, over 15 years of painstaking work, the composition has undergone 7 significant changes, turning from a small sprout into a monumental structure. "This work consists of about 15,000 parts, 300 sheets of steel, and the total weight of the structure is about 5 tons", - he explained.

The special significance of the event is given by the fact that on the 80th anniversary of the university, a time capsule was laid at the base of the tree for future generations. Now the completed composition will become a constant reminder of the rich history of the university and a point of attraction for students who will be able to take pictures against its background, keeping in mind the symbol of their alma mater.

The grand opening of the VSUFT Tree became one of the key events of the anniversary events and emphasized the continuity of generations in the history of the university.
