The I International Forum "Technologies in Bioeconomics: Innovations and Challenges in the XXI Century" is being held at VSUFT

Today, the I International Forum "Technologies in Bioeconomics: Innovations and Challenges in the XXI Century" began at VSUFT, aimed at becoming a platform for discussing the prospects for the development of bioeconomy, exchanging experience and searching for new solutions in this field. The forum brought together leading experts and scientists. At the opening ceremony, participants were welcomed by representatives of government agencies and university partners.

Deputy Chairman of the Voronezh Region Government Viktor Logvinov: "We attach great importance to the fact that this prestigious and important event is being held in the Voronezh Region. In-depth professional dialogue at this venue will contribute to new productive natural and climatic solutions based on the principles of bioeconomics. I would like to express my gratitude to the organisers and participants of the forum for their commitment to improving human life processes in the 21st century".

Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Forestry of the Russian Federation Alexander Panfilov: "On behalf of the Federal Agency for Forestry, I would like to welcome you to the first international forum dedicated to bioeconomy technologies. The forum brings together representatives of science, business, society and government to develop solutions that will ensure the long-term sustainable development of the bioeconomy. The challenges we face today include increasing pressure on the environment, risks to the life and health of citizens, climate change, and the impact of climate change on various industries and the environment. All this requires the implementation of new approaches in scientific and technological development, including in the field of bioeconomy and nature management. I am confident that the forum will intensify scientific and practical cooperation in the field of bioeconomy and introduce innovative developments into the real sector of the economy.

Welcoming remarks were also made by Anton Shashkin, Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Scientific and Technological Development of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Elena Bezruk, Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Voronezh Region; and Vyacheslav Zolototrubov, General Director of "Voronezhsintezkauchuk" JSC.

The forum will be held over two days. A packed programme is planned, including plenary sessions, thematic sections and round tables. Participants will visit the greenhouse complex and learn about the latest developments by VSUFT scientists in the field of bioeconomics. Participants will discuss a wide range of issues related to the development of innovative biotechnologies, decarbonisation technologies in various industries, low-carbon production, and the circular economy.

As part of the forum, the technical opening of the ecological and climatic station took place at the«FOR&ST CARBON» carbon supersite in the Voronezh Region. This is a modern scientific facility designed for continuous monitoring of carbon exchange between the ecosystem and the atmosphere.
