On the eve of Ecologist Day, the "Matryoshka" Creative Industries Centre hosted an awards ceremony for the winners of the "Green City We Will Build" park and square design contest. Voronezh Mayor Sergey Petrin personally presented the awards to the participants and shared his impressions on social media.
First place went to the "Cosmonauts Square" project, developed by a team led by Tatiana Zabaluyeva, a master's student of VSUFT. The team included students of VSUFT and VSTU: Anastasia Panova, Alina Antonova, Irina Kuznetsova, Anastasia Arefieva, and Sofya Ershova.
Second place was awarded to the "Forest Fairy Tale" project (curator Olga Nikolnikova, VSTU), and third place went to "Yesenin Alley" (curator Maria Maksimova, VSTU). Both projects were also created through the joint efforts of VSTU and VSUFT students.
Tatyana Zabalueva, leader of the winning team, shared her emotions: "Participating in the contest was an unforgettable experience for us! We put our hearts into the project, combining ecology, comfort and the memory of the conquerors of space. Working as a team brought us closer together and taught us to find common solutions. Thank you to the organisers, the jury and my colleagues!"
The city administration also noted the contribution of the lecturers and management of VSUFT to the organisation of the contest. Letters of thanks were received by Rector Mikhail Drapalyuk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Alexander Chernykh, Head of the Department of Landscape Architecture Elena Tikhonova and lecturer Sabina Skolzneva.
The creative atmosphere of the event was complemented by a performance by the VSUFT ensemble "Vesna". The contest not only inspired students to create environmentally friendly projects, but also showed how joint efforts can transform urban spaces.
